Planning & Construction Coordination
1. Align the Current Information
Identify the drawing revision, issued addenda, specifications, and unresolved design questions. Give each participant a shared starting point before pricing or sequencing the work.
2. Map Where the Trades Meet
Review the locations and responsibilities for openings, sleeves, embeds, equipment pads, utility connections, and finish transitions. A coordination question should identify the location, document reference, affected work, and decision needed.
3. Connect Decisions to the Schedule
List the selections, approvals, deliveries, and inspections that must precede each phase. Separate a target date from work still dependent on another trade, authority, or owner decision.
4. Keep a Clear Decision Record
Name the person responsible for answering each question. Record the approved direction, affected drawing revision, and any scope, price, or timing change before the affected work proceeds through the agreed process.
5. Define the Handoff
Agree what the next team needs: completed work boundaries, inspection or testing records, equipment information, remaining items, and a contact for closeout questions.
